Public Service Announcement: Crickett makes the shittiest 22LR rifles on the face of the planet

Recently, I had a regular call me and he says his nephew is turning 7 and he wants to get him a rifle. I said great, check out the 10/22's - takedown good but the regular 10/22 can be had for a few hundred bucks and then you add a decent optic and the kids can have some fun plinking.

10/22 too expensive
The Crickett "My first rifle" just as good but cheaper! and it's single shot bolt so the kid won't waste no ammo!
I tell him to get the 10/22. NOPE. JUST AS GOOD BUT CHEAPER. Order the crickett.
This thing comes in and the rear sight is missing.
I look in the box and it's in the box loose. I call the manufacturer and I say WTF. The guy is like "that's weird. We normally slide that thing into the slot of the receiver and then we tighten that flathead screw down so hard that the head of the screw strips a little"
