Epic just messed up splines... and months of work... 😡

Long story, short: I'm making a zero to hero system for world building in Unreal, avoiding entirely third party apps, marketplace plugins. Everything. Because those individual assets can break something up.... But, it seems Epic has its own way of messing up even with the most basic things: splines...

My city building system (just like 99,99% of similar systems) is based on sapling splines (closed or linear) to carve the PCG and spawn assets... Well, the last two iterations of the engine just messed up one of the most basic spline functionalities: the sample "On Interior"... If you don't trust me, Google it....

And this means every PCG built using this is messed up...

So, in order to avoid this stupid stuff, I'm going for a hardcore move and a challenge: I'm using the landscape material as a basel for EVERYTHING PCG. I dare you, Epic, mess this up too, in your next update! 👿

A different approach to creating cities in Unreal Engine, similar to what City Sample is built upon, but done entirely using the Engine's native tools like splines and PCG.

It's a proof of concept and in a work in progress. Also, another component of my Gaia World Creator tool for Unreal, a complete perfect with everything you need.

Hope you'll find it useful and would be interested to know your thoughts.

Thanks!
