Lightheartedly, I like my announcers old school: They believe in announcer jinxes and don’t call the game too early or mention a no hitter.

More seriously, this is a bad look for an announcer, right? It’s not just Block calling ballgame with a 7-1 lead in the 2nd inning, it’s also his decision to try and foreshadow narratives that aren’t necessarily there. For example, he mentioned at least three times how short the Twins bullpen was (their starter ended up lasting longer than ours).
