Hey guys i was wondering how long should a short crime/mystery story be, i'm working on one right now and i don't really know how long i should make it, would 5000 words be enough or should it be shorter or longer?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I can’t look at myself in the mirror anymore. I hate the way I look and feel. I’m either sad or empty. I tend to avoid people because I don’t want to end up disappointing them at some point. So, when I do that, I end up alone because I think I deserve to be alone.

How do I stop hating myself?
