My little one is 15 months old and still breastfeeding. We’re down to about 2–3 daytime feeds and one overnight feed, but I still haven’t had my period return yet.

My husband and I would like to start trying for another baby soon, but I’m really not ready to wean my toddler just yet. I know it’s possible to ovulate before your first postpartum period, but I’m wondering how common that actually is.

Has anyone here conceived while still breastfeeding a toddler and before their cycle had fully returned? If so, how often were you nursing, and did you do anything that seemed to help your fertility return?

I’d love to hear your experiences and whether you had to fully wean or if your cycle came back while continuing to breastfeed.
