Secondary M.2 SSD keeps getting “shut out” of system after a certain time, prohibiting reading and writing actions on the drive.

I have a Samsung 990 EVO PLUS 2 TB as a secondary ssd on my pc to Hold nothing but video games. I bought it from a friend who rarely used it before he gave it to me. After around 450 gb of games downloaded and a couple weeks run time it started to not download updates on steam and giving me the “disk wrote error.” This error was later determined to be because the SSD no longer allowed write actions. After every restart, the ssd will function for a few minutes before being shut out again. The best solution I found. Was to safe erase it in BIOS and it worked for a few hours, downloading and playing a game for a while before giving the same issue. Before that I did download Samsung magician and everything is in the green until the error triggered again, where now magician will say”Benchmark competes with errors” but not specifying. I doubt the drive is failing/dying since it has such little runtime/use(just over 1 tb written), but could be a possibility. I’m on windows 11 on a desktop pc built by me with newer hardware ( ryzen 7 7800 x3d, ddr5 ram, rtx 5070). According do other software it doesn’t have bad blocks and isn’t overheating.
