Bordetella vaccine side effect? But Vet says it’s normal & to change his food for now.
My dog got his Bordetella shot two days ago. He was getting groomed and the vet called saying that he needed his shot so they administered the shot. I was not present to see. My dog comes home and he’s fine, just a bit sleepy. Then he has diarrhea and I figured it’s a side effect. He doesn’t get it often so I wasn’t concerned. I thought it would’ve went away but today I woke up to him not being able to control himself and he went around the house and I saw blood as well. He went and used the bathroom in three different places of the house. This is not like him at all and he goes every morning but I guess he couldn’t control and went during the middle of the night. But the blood was bright red. His vet is saying that it’s normal and to just change his food to something that’s more easier for his stomach and to give him fiber.
he said to bring him back Monday or Tuesday if things don’t get better over the weekend.
My concern is my dog is 10 years old and this has never happened to him. Is this normal?
