Hi! Parent of a 9 year old that starting a cubing interest in the past 2 months. He officially 'solved' his 3x3 6 weeks ago and as of yesterday recorded his best solve time of 15 seconds (and an average under 35 seconds). He really wants to improve & I have zero knowledge of cubing. A few questions: is this rate of progress normal for a kid who has been practicing daily or does it show potential he should actively pursue (tutoring, etc). Any online resources outside of YT videos I can get for him to help him improve? And what time would be good enough for him to try out a competition? He really wants to go to one, but seems to think you have to be under 10 seconds to be even slightly competitive (I have no idea if that is true). Thank you!
