Lighting recommendation for room with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams

My family room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams. Currently, I have track lighting pointed towards the ceiling for passive lighting. The room is not nearly bright enough. I considered recessed lighting, but I’m nervous that the exposed beams will cast shadows. See attached pictures. Any recommendations?
