For all you Mountain Bikers…
I started as a car guy, eventually got into mountain biking. Figured I’d combine the 2 and get a motorcycle. Now I want to ride my motorcycle to the MTB trail and then go for a ride. I went down a rabbit hole and ended up finding the Kuat Dirtbag(only mount made of steel I could find) and ended up just welding that directly to the custom rear rack the previous owner put on it. Actually did quite well on the road and hit 60mph and barely noticed it was there with no issues. The mountain bike will hit some pretty weird angles and is odd to look at through the mirrors while going through really tight turns but does just fine. No issues with the bearings at all. Hub wasn’t even warm after a 15ish mile ride. Not sure how the tires will wear over a long period or a much longer ride/tour. I ended up just mounting the front wheel to the fork and bars. Sold both the bike and the mtb shortly after for a new emtb. Currently figuring how I’m gonna mount it to new new bike I just got(‘99 BMW enduro 650)
