2026 Zephyrus G16 palm rest gets uncomfortably hot while gaming

My 2026 Zephyrus G16 gets pretty warm around the palm rest/keyboard area when gaming. Even in League of Legends it feels uncomfortable to touch, and it also happens in heavier games like Black Myth: Wukong.
Is this normal for the G16, or could there be something wrong with my unit? Any other 2026 G16 owners experiencing the same thing?

Just bought a Zephyrus G16 RTX 5090 / 64GB / 2TB for ~$5,420 — did I get a good deal? AMA

I just picked up a Zephyrus G16 with the RTX 5090, 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD for around 142 million VND (~$5,420 USD). Do you guys think that’s a reasonable price, or did I overpay?
I’ve only unboxed it so far, but my first impressions are really positive. The laptop looks absolutely gorgeous and the build quality feels excellent. The OLED display is also insanely good-looking — I just wish ASUS had gone with Tandem OLED.
What surprised me the most is how thin, light and compact it feels considering the amount of performance packed inside. I can definitely see this being a great option for students or anyone who needs something portable but still wants serious gaming/workstation performance.
If anyone has questions about the laptop, feel free to ask. I’ll be testing and using it over the next few days and I’ll try to answer anything you guys want to know.
I’m also considering flashing the Razer 175W VBIOS. I watched a YouTuber test it and apparently you can get the higher GPU power limit without losing G-Sync, which sounds very interesting. Obviously I’ll do more research before trying it.
Overall, so far this feels like one of the most powerful gaming laptops you can get in such a thin and compact chassis.
Any benchmarks or tests you guys want me to run?

Zephyrus 2025 vs 2026

Hi guys pls help me out with this
In my country, you can buy a used Zephyrus G16 5090 64GB 2TB for $3,400. However, for the 2026 version, the same amount of money can buy a new Zephyrus G16 with the following specifications: 5070Ti 32GB 1TB. I’m quite confused and unsure which one to choose. I’ve heard that the 2026 models are generally better, but do they offer enough value for the extra cost? Please help me make an informed decision. I truly appreciate your assistance.

Problem solved with league and legend

Hey guys, if you’re having issues with League of Legends, like high FPS but it feels like 60fps and 60hz, despite the frame rate being locked at 120hz, try turning on vsync. It should make the game run at 120hz. Also, I’m having character stuttering when moving. Changing to Windows mode fixes it, but I don’t want to play with Windows mode. Can you help me fix this? My mouse is normal after disabling the accelerate mouse control.

Unplugged performance

Hey there! I’m curious to know if anyone here has the G14 2026 laptop and has unplugged it with customized wattage settings. If so, I’m wondering if it can play games like Cyberpunk with custom settings for about two hours. I’m considering getting a Mac M5 Pro and this laptop, so I wanted to know if this laptop meets my requirements. Thanks!

Zephyrus g16 2024 + egpu

Hello,

I am planning to upgrade my laptop’s performance without purchasing a new one to save money. I am considering pairing it with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card(egpu), but I am still hesitant to make a decision. I am unsure if it is worth the investment, given that my current laptop specifications are an Intel Core i7-155H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 mobile graphics card.

Could you please provide me with your insights and guidance on whether this upgrade is a worthwhile investment?

Thank you.
