Has anyone successfully stepped away from a fandom they were deeply attached to?

Hi all, I am looking for advice on how to step away or at least step back from fandom that I am deeply attached to.

I have been following this TV show and its related contents for a while now (in fact one of the longest topics that I was obsessed with) but unfortunately it has reached a point that it’s no longer enjoyable to me. Maybe it’s not the fandom itself but I felt like I am just, for some reasons, constantly affected strongly by all the negativity, drama and arguments. I felt anxious, agitated and upset and I believed it might be better for me to detach myself from it.

However the problem is that despite I have tried to move on and focus on other interests or try out other shows or movies, it doesn’t seem to be working. My mind is still stuck and nothing seems to be able to capture my attention. I have deleted my social media to make it harder to check but it’s still constantly on my mind.

Has anyone experienced sth similar before? How did you disengage from interests that become unhealthy for you?
