The first episode of Bluey already shows how incredible Bandit and Chilli are as parents
I’ve noticed it immediately, because it has contrasted my journey of self-discovery. Before I was a teenager (and even during that), I didn’t know what I was feeling. My parents taught me how to express my emotions in a healthy way and thus I never understood what I was feeling. Imagine my shock when Bingo (a 4 year old) talked to Bluey about her feelings using an “I” statement in an episode “Magic Xylophone”. (Bingo says something like “Bluey, you always never take turns with me. You just take all of the turns and it makes me feel sad. I will unfreeze you if you promise me you will let me have turns, too”). Like yeah it’s not perfect, but she’s four and that is already so impressive. Not every adult has this level of emotional maturity. I’ve only started talking like that when I was 16-17 because I (finally) went to therapy. It just makes me wish I had parents like Chilli and Bandit in my life.
