Wood Bat recommendation?

Hello! My son's batting coaches are recommending we pick him up a wood bat to use in practice.

He's 11, 4'10", 76 lbs. recently switched his game bat from a 29 -8 Icon to a 30 -10 Supra.

Coach said to look for a 30 -5 or -8. Can you suggest a bat or tell me which ones to stay away from? What about the type of wood?

is this glove a yes or a no for a pitcher

looking for feedback on glove color. An umpire at a recent game wouldn't allow our pitcher to use his glove based on the coloring. A few days later, I saw the head umpire for our home league and I asked him (as he has clearly been behind the plate when this kid has pitched before) he said it was ok and gave me his reasons why. I am curious to hear other's thoughts on this.

*That particular game I learned something new about glove color restrictions.

Feature requests

In my official "GameChanger mom" capacity today, I was scoring a game and had a feral sibling (8 years old) from the other team sitting next to me running the field's scoreboard.

FS was completely enthralled by GC and asked how he could learn to use it. I was showing him on simple plays and he was getting the hang of it. We talked about how he could learn on his own: YouTube (which he said he'd need to get special permission from his parents on) or to score a practice game while watching an MLB game.

FS did have 3 suggestions to make and I told him I would share with the community:

  1. injured player (where there is a delay of game)

  2. umpire discussion (where there is a delay of game)

  3. Pickle - because that's a fun stat to follow
