Experience selling beauty/skincare products

I was thinking about listing some brand-new, never-used skincare and makeup products that I have, but I’m not sure if it would be worth it. Everything is unused and in great condition, and I was wondering if there’s much interest in those kinds of items on Depop. Has anyone had success selling skincare or makeup products?

Recently, I had a buyer claim that an item I sold wasn’t authentic. Depop asked me for proof of purchase, and all I had was the order confirmation email showing the date, product, my email, the brand’s email, and the order number. Unfortunately, I guess that wasn’t enough to prove the item was authentic. 😢 When I received the package back from the buyer, the item was completely destroyed and clearly used, it was a beauty product. Is there anything I can do at this point, or is this just a total loss situation?
