Does an employer have to tell you you are fired, or can they just stop scheduling you?

Hi. My child works at Cracker Barrel. They haven't said she is fired, but she hasn't been scheduled for 19 or 20 days. I think they don't "fire" people so employees can't get unemployment, or to save money on the HR side or some other reason that benefits them.

My question: Is it legal to just stop scheduling someone but not fire them? Can she get unemployment?

If you have a child who needs financial literacy!

Hi. My son is 13. He learned about finances from this app called Greenlight. It has a checking, savings, investing account. You can put chores in, pay chores and my favorite, there are financial literacy lessons. Like one on opportunity cost, for example. He is trying to earn money through their kickback deal. If you sign up your kid (costs $5) they/you get $30 back and my son gets $50. It costs you less than a cup of coffee and boom. Chores are way easier and so is financial literacy.
