Has anyone else found that finding a manufacturer is harder than coming up with the product idea?
I thought coming up with a product idea would be the biggest hurdle. Instead, finding a manufacturer I can actually trust has taken far more time than I expected.
The deeper I get into the search, the harder it becomes to separate good suppliers from good marketing. Every supplier has positive reviews, every platform says its manufacturers are verified, and after a while they all start to look the same. I've compared suppliers on Alibaba, Made-in-China, and a few independent factory websites, but making the final decision still isn't easy.
For anyone who's already gone through this process, how did you narrow your shortlist? Did you rely on one sourcing platform or compare suppliers from several before choosing one?
Aside from price and MOQ, what helped you decide a manufacturer was worth working with?
Looking back, what's one lesson that would have saved you time, money, or stress before placing your first production order? I'd love to hear what worked, and what didn't.
