Cameras to deal with kids fighting
We are one day into summer vacation and I can't leave the room apparently without drama. I go to the bathroom and my kids start fighting. They are in general good kids, no behavior issues at school or anything, but I need to go to the bathroom, they are playing nicely, I get out of the bathroom and someone is on the floor crying with an ice pack and the toys are dumped all over and they are both accusing each other of doing all of it, and also I think the child claiming to be hurt is being dramatic to try and get the other into trouble.
I have never wanted cameras in my house. I used a video baby monitor for one, but all the stories about those things being hacked made me not pull it out for the other kid. But I have a garden to weed and a basement to clean this summer; I need to leave them for longer than five minutes alone.
If you have inside cameras in your house, does that make your kids less likely to do naughty things if they know you can just check the camera to see what happened? (This sounds dystopian just asking this question, I just want my kids to act the same if I'm not there than if I am there.)
