I am currently working on a research project tracking the massive urban growth and environmental transformation of Siliguri over the last 40 years.

While satellite imagery gives me the technical data, I need real human experiences to make this study truly meaningful. I want to capture how our rapid expansion toward places like Matigara, Salugara, and Phulbari has actually felt on the ground—especially regarding local green cover loss, changing summer temperatures, monsoon flooding, and the state of our local rivers like the Mahananda, Fuleswari, and Jorapani.

Who can help:

• Anyone who currently lives in or has previously lived in Siliguri.
• Ideally, people who have lived here long enough to personally recall how the city's landscape and weather have shifted over the last 10, 20, or 30+ years.

The survey takes about 12–15 minutes because it includes a few open-ended questions where you can type out your own memories of how your neighborhood used to look. It is completely anonymous and will be used strictly for academic research.
