Hi all,

Recently received my positive skills assessment, and my employer is considering sponsoring me for subclass 186 (Direct Entry).

My current assessment only counted 2.77 years of relevant work experience because it was assessed up to the cut-off date, not because the experience was rejected. I am still working full-time in the same role, and I should reach 3 years of relevant experience by early June.

My current visa expires at the end of July, so timing is quite tight. If I need to do another VETASSESS reassessment to have the full 3 years formally recognised, I may lose valuable time waiting for the outcome.

Would it be necessary to complete another skills assessment showing the full 3 years before lodging the 186 application, or can the employer and I proceed with the application and provide current employment evidence such as payslips, updated Statement of Service, and contract to show that I have now reached 3 years?

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
