„Ashes of devotion“
A creed, a cause, a whispered vow,
Silences hunger, stills the brow.
Eyes on stormed skies, hearts in flame,
Ideals blaze, a pyre of name,
While reason falters, and pain won’t tame.
Spilling blood, bone and breath,
Chasing a truth that mocks at death.
In fevered flight, in shadowed night,
Meaning blooms where the dark takes light.
Meaning rises as hunger does,
Not for food, but for a cause.
Faith, once choice, becomes necessity,
A lifeline in the storm of uncertainty.
When beliefs outweigh the needs,
Bodies crumble and the world bleeds,
Survival kneels to faith’s command;
a fragile life slips through our hands.
Yet hunger knocks, a louder drum,
The body whispers, the mind goes numb.
Truths once cherished fade in the night,
Compromised to hold onto life’s light.
Belief bends beneath the weight of need,
Faith, once blazing, now slow to heed.
Survival claims its ruthless prize,
and meaning dims before our eyes.“
