does changing the tailpiece help with the sound?
I've been having a problem with my violin for a while, it's a pretty dark violin; Ernst Heinrich Roth made in 2012. Not super expensive but it has a nice warm tone. the problem is although the tone is nice, when it gets to the G string its too boomy and dull.
I've tried changing strings, also brought it to the luthier multiple times to adjust the soundpost to help reduce the boominess, and it worked temporarily but after a week or so it feels boomy again. I live in a hot humid country so i don't know if that is also a factor that affects it. Now I'm wondering if changing the tailpiece might help. I'm at the point where I'm willing to invest and experiment to figure out how to solve the issue without needing to buy a much more expensive violin, because I love the tone of my violin except when it gets to the G string.
