Struggling with different brand of Lexapro (Escitalopram) or a Lexapro tolerance?
Hello lovely people of the internet,
I am wondering if anyone has noticed that different brands of Lexapro seem to work differently. I'm from Australia, so am not sure if different countries have the same brands as we do here.
I have been on Lexapro for a little over 8 months now and have worked up to the max dose (20mg), for most of this time I was going to the same two chemists and was getting Escitalopram-WGR, this is just a generic version of Lexapro. However, this last time I had to go to a different chemist and the generic version that they stock is Escitalopram (Sandoz - A brand in Australia that made generic versions of many drugs). The pills themselves are also different shapes, but both are 20mg.
Recently, I have noticed that my newest package, is not as effective. Is it possible that I am becoming tolerant to Lexapro; or could it be the different brands. I am going to discuss this with my doctor when I see her, has anyone else dealt with this?
Thanks in advance.
