Back on April 11, I had to put my cat of 19 years down as it was unexpected and heartbreaking. Since then I have been trying to cope trying to connect with our other cat and find solace in the memories I have with him. My other cat has only known him and other cats and now she’s alone. I have recently entertained getting her a buddy but I am unsure. my heart is still in mourning and not in any way trying to put a band aid on my feelings. For anyone who is going through or have experienced this, did you get another cat or waited longer? I am in no way in a rush for this and would like to have the moment for the cat to ‘pick me’ as I experienced in the past.

I would appreciate any advice.
