Hi,

I’m having an issue with my submersible pump in a 2 m hydroponic tower. The pump shaft keeps breaking over time.

I believe the problem happens when the timer turns the pump off. When it shuts down, the water in the tower flows back down with force, which may be causing stress or reverse load on the pump and eventually damaging the shaft.

I think about solving this by using a PWM controller or a frequency drive to make the pump start and stop more smooth.?

Does anyone have suggestions on what could be causing this and how to prevent the shaft from breaking?
