Advice on student accommodation in Manchester
Hi everyone,
I’m an international student starting at the University of Manchester this October, and I’m currently choosing between student accommodations like MSV South, iQ residences, and Square Gardens.
My main priorities are a safe environment, student community/social life, and overall convenience.
However, I have a concern regarding payment. My funding (scholarship) starts in October and is paid monthly, so paying the first accommodation instalment upfront or early in the contract is going to be quite difficult for me financially.
I wanted to ask:
Are places like MSV, iQ, or Square Gardens generally worth it in terms of student life and living experience?
Do you think there are better alternatives I should consider in Manchester with similar safety and student community?
Has anyone had experience negotiating payment plans with monthly funding instead of termly instalments?
Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thank you!
