Registration of mandatory telephone lines with CURP (SSN) in Mexico
Phone line registration: the argument for combating crime and extortion.
Come on, with the data that has been leaked over time from public institutions like the SAT (Tax Administration Service), IMSS (Mexican Social Security Institute), etc., there are already people reporting that they have 3 to 5 phone lines registered without them having done anything. How did this happen? Easy, all the leaked data is sold and auctioned on the darknet or deep web (I don't know which is more accurate or what you call it) because the cybersecurity infrastructure in Mexico is a joke; it seems like everything was done haphazardly. Now, there's a substantial change: the government won't be storing your data; the phone companies will, and the problem is that there are massive vulnerabilities in their registration networks (which are also terrible).
They say it's for the security of Mexicans, but from my point of view, it's serious negligence and threatens the national security of Mexicans. With the leaked data, they're going to frame and implicate many innocent people in extortion crimes because his phone line was registered without his knowledge, and he can't do anything about it. What about the people (especially women and teenagers) who share their real-time location with their family, partners, and friends? Because let's remember, we live in a country with a tremendous crisis of missing persons. What about the university or high school student who goes to and from school and home? From one day to the next, they won't be able to do anything; they'll be invisible on the map.
Now I ask, is there any way to stay connected while avoiding cell towers? Because the problem with being connected will arise when you're out and about. You won't have mobile data to use WhatsApp, Signal, Facebook, etc.; you won't be able to make or receive calls (except for 911 emergencies).
