Why do people leave a long term relationship?
Similar to the title I want to gain some perspectives on why people may leave a long term relationship (5+ years).
I am in a long term relationship 7+ years with my partner and she is my first ever serious relationship. At the beginning I felt this great yearning I have never felt before of wanting her to be my gf. I tried to make myself better so that I can be ready for a serious romantic relationship. We clicked in so many ways and I don't think I will ever meet something like her ever again. However, situation has changed - jobs / family / pets, etc. I know we used to be very good but things just aren't the same. It's not like we are cheating, but it feels like we just dont have the energy for each other anymore.
I am still in the process of figuring out what's wrong and see if this is salvageable, but I just wannt know why people leave long term relationships usually? What made you realise you should break up with your partner even when there is no abuse and no one cheated?
