Hi everyone,

I just bought a used Akai MPC Key 37 from Cash Converters and I’m trying to figure out if it’s faulty or if I’m missing something in setup.

What works: Touchscreen works perfectly I can navigate menus Can load demo projects PC detects it as “MPC Key 37 MIDI” over USB

What doesn’t work: No sound at all (even from demo projects) No response from physical keys, pads, or buttons Hardware buttons don’t light up or do anything

What I’ve tried: Plugged headphones into main output Tried different headphones USB connected to Windows PC (shows up as MIDI device in device manager) downlaoded gen 2 software from akai website but it’s not seeing the mpc is plugged in

I’m new to MPCs so I’m not sure what normal behaviour is at startup.

Any help appreciated 🙏
