Im running a light for around 15 hours a day, matching the sunset and sunrise of the place I plan to plant them.

5/6 of the corojo from last year ended up germinating a couple days ago. All on the same day which is odd. Not sure why such a consistent delay.

I also started another tray as backups yesterday. I’m experimenting with them and will have 20 plants on the heat mat during the day and off at night, and 10 of them on the heat mat 24/7 to see which germinates faster, inspired by this article I read: https://tobacco.ces.ncsu.edu/news/from-the-field-agronomy-notes-vol-2-num-2/

None of my 6 corojo seeds from last season have germinated yet so I may restart those in a few days, I wonder if I did something wrong when collecting them and the seeds are bad.

I’ve been trying to leave the light on as long as the sun would be up normally, but I’m leaving town for a couple days so I may have to leave it running 24/7 and hope they can last 2 days without any water.

Day 3 since I started the seeds and 4/24 have germinated today, 2 broadleaf and 2 of the vuelta Abajo. I removed the cover, heat mat, and added the grow light.

Started 6 each of the following varieties: El Coroja (from my 2025 grow), Vuelta Abajo, Connecticut Broadleaf, Havana 142. Have them on the heat mat and will add light after germination.

About a week later than I intended but still hope to transplant around June 17, last year it took me around 30 days from seed starting to transplant.
