Took reg last week and it was awful

I’m not even gonna complain because at least I’ll get my score back in a reasonable time frame, unlike the last 3. But that exam was so horrible. I thought the MCQ were pretty fair they were just worded really weird compared to Becker, a lot like AUD. But at least on AUD I thought the sims were a cakewalk. Not for reg. I feel like every sim had the most insanely niche detail that Becker barely covered, I fucked so many of them up. I got a 78, 76, and 80 on the Becker mocks so felt pretty decent going in but I got humbled so fast.

It’s crazy because I felt horrible about audit and pretty confident about ISC but got the same exact score on them. I swear they adjust the grading based on how hard your testlet is because you really never know with these exams. But I’m thinking I might keep reviewing until I get my score back. These exams are so demoralizing tbh I wish we got our score back asap

Digital Nomad Work?

Wondering if anyone on this thread is a digital nomad? If so how did you get there?

Assuming you need to start your own business, but there’s so many options. Most of my experience is with excel/dashboarding/financial analysis so not sure how in demand that would be. I would be 100% content making 30-35k a year working part time so I could fund a life in a low cost of living country. Trying to prepare now so I could transition in a year or two.

Hearing anyone’s experience is super helpful!

Accounting/finance/CPA pathways

Hey everyone - I’m about to take my last CPA exam and I’m trying to figure out what I can do for income to become a digital nomad. Im hoping to pivot to this lifestyle in the next year or two. I have two years of experience in M&A and FP&A at semi-prestigious firms.

I feel like people exaggerate the ease of finding a remote corporate role that’s chill with you working anywhere in the world and has flexibility. The dream would be working 25-30 hours a week, but I’d be cool earning 35-40k USD. I honestly just want to enjoy my life and breakeven, at least for now.

If anyone with a similar background has any insight it’d be so helpful! I’m looking into bookkeeping, fractional CFO work, expat taxes, etc. but it’s so overwhelming trying to figure out where I should start. I just want to start building the skills now whether it’s at my current job or outside of work on the side so I can set myself to up transition soon.
