I found out too late that it's considered a bad lens, but I'm also having fun with my 75-300mm
Total beginner here. My EOS 70D is my first and only serious camera. I'm into photography as just a hobby, and maybe aspiring to just doing shoots/portraits for people I know when I get better at it.
I didn't know this sub existed before I started going crazy on eBay with lenses, but I've been happy with most of my purchases. If I didn't come across this subreddit, I probably would never have known that the 75-300mm is a pretty much universally hated lens. I probably should have been suspicious at the price (I got this one for just about $100 - the seller accepted my offer) but I was thinking about getting as much focal length as possible for cheap.
I've seen the many comments on here about how the 55-250mm is a much better lens, so I'll look into finding one of those.
