I feel like mometamax works better than tresaderm for my cats constant bacteria and yeast ear buildup.

I just received a prescription for my cat for tresaderm because he constantly builds gunk in his ears. The first time I got him looked at it for, which was around this time last year, they verified it wasn’t ear mites. They prescribed him mometamax and cleaned his ears out really good. I decided to go a different vet this time. After his first prescription of mometamax, his ears began to build up that gunk again. For a little bit, I was getting more prescriptions sent to me because I thought he had to keep taking it, even though that wasn’t informed to me at the vet. I seen the bacteria and yeast come again so I ordered more. I got him a general check up again this past Monday to talk to them about his recurrent yeast and bacteria buildup in his ears. This other office also verified that it wasn’t mites, but they told me they didn’t understand why the mometamax was prescribed to my baby because supposedly some chemical in the prescription can cause kidney issues in cats. So instead they prescribed him tresaderm. They cleaned his ears, but not completely and they did use q tips. I saw it as them wanting to be gentle to his eardrums or whatever, but I would’ve loved a full cleaning. I’ve been giving him 3 drops in each ear every morning and night since Tuesday, and i still see a little bit of gunk. It’s not as bad as when I took him to the vet Monday. I think the mometamax worked faster, but then again it’s only been a couple of days, so maybe I should be patient.
