Hello, I’m a sophomore in college and interested in joining the army national guard. I am going to MEPS this week for the physical and behavioral health consult, my recruiter told me I won’t be enlisting when I go since everything needs to clear from the doctors which should take a couple of weeks. I haven’t told my parents yet because they hate the military and I know they would try to stop me. I would like any kind of advice or experiences. Am I really making a mistake? My major is political science also and I haven’t decided on what I want to do yet but it’s between foreign policy, intelligence, lawyer, or maybe even active duty. I’ve heard the military can help with getting these types of jobs? Also, do I need to finish training before I can get free tuition? I live in Louisiana.
