Hello fellow OGs,

I’ve been a Silkroad Online player for over 18 years, but I recently quit. Honestly, I really miss that feeling of playing it… but at the same time, I don’t want to get sucked back in and overwhelmed again.

So I’ve been looking for something that can give me similar vibes not exactly the same (because let’s be real, nothing really replaces SRO), but something that scratches that same itch.

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of people recommending Guild Wars 2, saying it’s worth the time, fun even at early levels, and doesn’t push you to spend money.

I’ve got a couple of questions for those who’ve played it:

Is it actually fun long-term, and does it have an active player base for group activities and chatting, like SRO used to?

And is it truly not pay-to-win? Like, can you fully enjoy the game without needing to spend money?

Would really appreciate any honest thoughts especially from anyone who’s coming from SRO or similar games.
