I was just presented and gifted this unusual item from a dear old friend who is 73yo who had it given to him by his romantic partner years ago who was a famous interior decorator who designed/created the interior on movie sets of classic movies such as the widely known film, "Gone With The Wind." He lived in Los Angeles sometime in the 1930s-1950s and has since passed away from old age many years ago. He was known to possess/display rare antiques in his homes, such as a beautiful Neidermeyer Desk from the 1800s that was laden with decorative carvings and intricate inlays, and was featured in Better Homes Magazine (which was also left by him to my dear friend). I say all of that, to say this...I know that this piece is very old. I cannot find a single example of it online when searching for something similar to it with my limited knowledge. Unfortunately, this relic was somehow screwed into the box that it is seen upon possibly from the base to fasten it as a decorative piece. I was told that this piece may be carved from nephrite, jade. Any information about this piece as well as any estimated value is greatly appreciated!

Measurements of the piece (not including the box it rests upon)are as follows:

Length: 4.5"-6"

Width: 3.5"-4.5"

Height/Thickness: 1.25"-1.75"

Thanks is advance for all of your help solving this mystery!
