Paperwork for renting when you're retired?
Short question: What paperwork should a retired person have ready to go when they're looking to rent?
Longer version: I'm looking to move and my parent has offered to be on the lease because they visit a lot and this way I could rent someplace nicer (they've offered to help out with rent if need be too). They also offered to be a guarantor instead but from what I've read it's really hard to have a retired guarantor (if I'm wrong--please let me know!).
My other concern is they will have JUST retired. Like one month. So the retirement income proof would just be for a month, if that. Does that matter? Obviously, they can show income from their previous job for the months before that, but I assume that will be irrelevant. (Our combined income will be more than enough for the 40x monthly rent.)
