hi i'm genuinely so confused and the module registration guide is so unhelpful...

so i'm adding classes into my shopping cart now and i've added ALL available class combinations from each module into my shopping cart. i've ranked them in class priority but whenever i wanna save my ranking it says "Invalid Priority Selection"... anyone going through the same issue? I made sure not to accidentally place two class combinations from the same module of the same priority.

edit: it's been fixed, apparently you can't put them in order in the shopping cart, only under "enrolment: add classes"

hello! would appreciate some advice especially from accountancy seniors 🙏🙏 am an incoming accountancy student coming from a business but non-accountancy background. i got an A in business accounting back in poly and was wondering if it is wise to apply for module exemption.

on one hand, my friends currently in SIT and some seniors said you should apply for module exemptions as much as possible to ease your workload.

on the other hand, i took that business accounting module back in early 2022 and even though i have a good grade in it, i feel coming from a non-accountancy background i should retake it to refresh and revise my knowledge?? since business accountancy is the foundation of all the future accountancy modules right? or am i wrong? because i was told by one senior that the more advanced accounting modules do not even focus on journal entries and balance sheets and basic financial statements anymore.

please note i'm in no way shaming or being condescending to ppl, SIT is my first choice uni 🙏 however i am just curious to know and find out more perspectives on this due to interesting interactions and conversations had with current SIT students.

my friend, who was straight rejected from all unis except SIT, is in one of the more difficult courses in SIT. he told me "the hard truth is that most SIT students would have gone big 3 if they had the chance". i asked him if he was saying this because he is frustrated from schoolwork. he said no, most SIT students grow to love the school and the connections they make here, but almost all students will silently agree that big 3 does open more networks, opportunities, and typical uni life. and due to SG rat race, its hard to dismiss prestige as completely unimportant.

my friend from SIT accountancy also told me she had to "settle" for this uni due to being rejected by big 3.

i went open house this year and spoke to a lot of students, even the ones from courses i was not applying to. i pretty much asked everyone why they chose to study at SIT. an alarming number of people said "because my GPA is not good enough for big 3/i didn't bother applying to big 3 because i know i won't get in" in a joking and casual manner. like, they didn't talk about the benefits or features of SIT first?? the first thing you do is frame SIT as a second option to big 3? i applied this year and some fellow applicants on reddit confidently told me would have applied big 3 if their GPA was better too, or that big 3 would be the clear choice if they had to choose between SIT and big 3.

it makes me wonder, is SIT anyone's dream uni? my SIT friends just told me honestly, it is not... 💀💀
"certain course like allied health yea ppl choose intentionally but if our course is available in other uni most ppl will choose there instead" huh...

i think a very eye opening question my SIT friend asked me is "if you graduated with 4.0 gpa would you still choose SIT?" and my answer is no... and my friend said no too. but it's not because i think SIT is worse off than other unis or anything, i just don't know why, but i would say no. i'm curious what are other people's answer to this question? don't be afraid to provide blunt perspectives

my GPA is 3.3X, 4 Distinction grades, 1 book prize, my lowest grades is just 1 C and 1 C+ for 2 modules that was 4 cu. the rest of my grades are all Bs and above, but obviously looking at my GPA it's mostly Bs and B+s HAHAHA. i have a testimonial from one of my lecturers ( nth special cause a lot of ppl have but worth pointing out ). I do not come from a diploma of accountancy but i do come from a diploma in school of business and took 2 accountancy modules where i scored A and B+. i have an offer from FT SUSS accountancy.

it has been 7 weeks since my SIT interview and i haven't received any news. many of those offered were interviewed later than me and as of my knowledge the offers were given for accountancy on 7, 10, and 20 april. but it's just radio silence since then.

does it mean offers have been fully given out already? i know the last day of interviews for this programme was 24 april. many others like me have been waiting really long but the issue is i'm one of the earliest groups to be interviewed and i feel like if i was offered, i would be offered by now... my groupmates said my interview answers were quite well ( i feel okok about it, not too bad, not fantastic either, but quite good?? ) my interviewer was very strict, she was grilling everyone else but with me she was quite lenient ( it's a grp interview so all of us are being questioned one by one in the same room ). and my groupmates even pointed out that she was ok with and even liked/agreed with my answers. for the group discussion, yea it was kinda awkward cos everyone was super quiet, but i took initiative to facilitate discussion. i made sure we were on the same page, and invited alternative opinions. i was also trying to fill the silence with additional suggestions but i think everyone was so nervous, when i asked for input no one responded 😭😭 i openly asked for help and it was just awk silence too. in the end i also planned how we were gonna present our points cuz no one was taking initiative to start 😞

i feel my academics are quite competitive for SIT... they offered many ppl with around the same or even lower GPA than me and not from accountancy diploma, no relevant experience as well. so i'm thinking maybe my interview was trash??? :(
