If you could only have one sak for edc, what are you choosing?

Title says it all. Which sak is your favorite edc in your current living environment?

Are scissors really that necessary?

I see most on this sub swear by the scissors and refuse to carry a sak without them. Although I also think they’re excellent and love them on my climber, are they really all that necessary for an edc?

What do you find you mostly use them for and what can they do that the standard blade or pen blade can’t do? I sometimes wonder if they’re worth a full layer on a sak

Since choosing the climber as my edc, I’ve added some “necessary” upgrades. Found these micarta plus scales on Etsy, added the additional implements, and got a dangler clip from Amazon. Can’t get enough of this one

A few days ago I made a post that I purchased a climber for edc but was looking at replacing it with a compact as I felt the climber was too chunky. Well, I purchased the compact and I have to say there is virtually no difference in the pocket.

Holding each in the hand, yes I can feel a difference in their thickness. However, when they’re in my pocket I can’t tell which is which. Maybe an ever so slight weight difference if I have one in one pocket and the other in another. But on a dangler or in my fifth jeans pocket there is no difference.

At this point, I am completely satisfied with the climber and chalked up my internal struggle to a classic case of overthinking. I prefer the thickness of the climber in hand during usage and for one extra layer you get the pen knife, the awl, and the classic two piece opener layer. This is a no brainer for me. I appreciate everyone’s input on my last few posts you make a great community
