Adding aerobars to a Cube Agree C:62 Race with an integrated ICR cockpit — any experience?

Hi everyone,

I have a Cube Agree C:62 Race, size 53, with the stock integrated carbon CUBE ICR Cockpit System. I’d like to add aerobars for longer rides and training towards an Ironman 70.3.

Ideally, I’d keep my current cockpit and use an add-on. However, the flattened handlebar shape makes compatibility tricky.

So far, I’ve found AERO PLUG adapters with their required bridge and Profile Design Sonic Ergo 39a aerobars, costing around €320 for the complete hardware setup. AERO PLUG also states that fitting their adapters voids the handlebar warranty.

That’s quite a lot to spend, so I’m also considering replacing the cockpit with a separate handlebar and stem suitable for regular clip-on aerobars.

Has anyone here done either conversion on this bike?

  • AERO PLUG: Which setup are you using, and how has it held up over time?
  • Other add-ons: Are there any alternatives explicitly approved by CUBE for this cockpit?
  • Cockpit replacement: Which handlebar, stem and spacers did you use, and what was the total cost, including installation?

I’d really appreciate photos, exact part names or feedback from anyone who has asked CUBE about this. I want to confirm compatibility before buying anything.

Thanks!
