I was thinking about the different models Agree vs Attain or Pro vs SLX and came to my personal conclusion that the C:62 Pro is my absolute favorite this year in this color. Just ordered it.

What’s your favorite Cube this year?

Took it out for the first time this morning for 40km, absolutely lovely. This is the 53cm size, I'm 177cm and 81cm inseam. Cube's calculator recommended me the 56cm, I debated between the 53cm and 56cm but ended up settling on this and glad I did. I definitely don't want any more reach than this (I know you can change stems etc but why do that if you can avoid it 😄), and it doesn't feel too low (it's still endurance geometry at the end of the day and as you can see comes with some spacers).

Moving from my first ever road bike, a Triban RC120 that I bought second hand and was a size too big for me, my hand pain is gone immediately.

I did a lot of research before this purchase and in my opinion this bike probably represents the single best value on the entire market for road bikes, along with the SLX/SLT. Electronic shifting would've been nice, and the SLX would've been more tempting to me had my heart not been set on a black colour. The £3k for the SLT I personally can't justify. The mechanical 105 is so smooth and compact compared to what I had before that on the first couple of shifts it felt like it wasn't working until I got used to it 😂

Only annoyance is I don't have an adapter for the 'click valves' so couldn't adjust the tyre pressure.

ich muss mir mal ein bisschen Frust von der Seele schreiben.
Ich habe vor knapp 2 Wochen mein 2027er CUBE Attain C:62 SLX bekommen. An sich bin ich glücklich und zufrieden mit dem Bike. Erst recht, weil ich komplett neu im Road Game bin, vorher nur MTB gefahren. Nach einer längeren Zeit mit sehr wenig Zweirad, wollte ich jetzt auf die Straße. Bike im August vorbestellt und dann eben vor zwei Wochen abgeholt.
Beim Probesitzen schon gesehen, rechte Bremsleitung unterm Cockpit zu lang. Wird bestimmt gekürzt, wenn ich den Deal abschließe. Gedacht, nicht getan. Siehe Bild. Wurde versucht, weiter reinzuschieben, lustig. Zu lang ist zu lang. Sieht scheiße aus und auf ne Mail wird seit einer Woche nicht reagiert. Will ja lediglich, dass es bei der ersten DS gefixt wird. Natürlich nicht auf meine Kosten.
Dann noch festgestellt, dass die Laufräder definitiv nicht zentriert wurden.
Gestern kam dazu, dass der Steuersatz mit der ersten Dusche vom nassen Asphalt angefangen hat zu quietschen. Das Bike hat noch keine 100km weg. Hat mit Sicherheit weder im Werk noch im Store jemals Fett gesehen.
Ich „freue“ mich auf die Rechnung der Erstdurchsicht…

Verlange ich zu viel, wenn ich ein CUBE im CUBE Store kaufe, dass die Mechaniker CUBE Bikes ordentlich aufbauen und an Kunden übergeben? Das sind doch Basics, oder nicht?
Ich weiß, dass CUBE ein P/L Marke ist und 7-stellige Produktionszahlen hat… aber wenigstens die Stores können doch für ein schönes Erlebnis sorgen.
Ich habe mich bewusst für den Fachhandel entschieden, werde aber das nächste definitiv online beziehen.
Mein Fachhändler hat diesen Namen definitiv nicht verdient.

Since there seem to be quite few buyers in this bike category, I thought I’d share some info here.

I had already bought the Cube Nuroad One, but then realized in the shop that it was too small for me (size L at 1.85 m and 89.1 cm inseam). On the test ride, the spark for gravel bikes somehow didn’t catch either: tires too fat, somehow not sporty enough – I was missing a bit of the fun. So I returned the bike and started looking again. I didn’t want a road bike, because I also wanted to ride on forest trails and gravel.

Then I came across cyclocross bikes and the new Cube Cross Race 2027 with a carbon frame, carbon wheels and electronic SRAM Rival AXS shifting.
The Cube dealer nearby had the bike in stock (size 58). Took it for a test ride: the bike is super dynamic, agile, light, and the shifting is clean – left for down, right for up, just tap. What can I say, I was instantly a little bit in love.

I then went for size 58. Smaller would definitely have been too small. Larger (61) would have worked – you’d sit more upright, but have more reach with the stock stem.

What I changed:

• Flipped the stem (+/- 6°) from negative to positive → higher handlebar
• Degreased and waxed the chain

Everything else I left as is.

In my opinion, a cyclocross bike is a mix of road bike and gravel bike – so what are the pros and cons?

• Riding position: upper body lower than on a gravel bike → more towards a road bike.
• Tire width: narrower than a gravel bike, but wider than a road bike (33 mm).
• Tread: if anything, even more aggressive than on a gravel bike → gravel, mud and sand are no problem, but you lose some speed on tarmac.
• Drivetrain: the combination of rear cassette and front chainring is also more on the gravel side, i.e. 40T x 10T for speed (downhill you hit the limit quickly) and 40T x 36T for climbs (might not be enough for very steep hills – hasn’t happened to me yet, though). The downside of the smaller climbing range comes with the upside that the harder gears are more finely spaced, which I really like.
• There are no mounts for bags or a rack on the frame.
• Seatpost and handlebar are not carbon → so there’s potential to save some more weight with relatively “cheap” components.
