Flex leave & Carer leave

Hello all
This time, my Team Leader asked me to provide a reason for my flex leave request. I had only applied for 1 hour of flex leave on four days, and I submitted the request two weeks in advance to provide sufficient notice.
In the past, none of my previous Team Leaders have ever asked me for a reason when applying for flex leave. Has there been a recent policy change regarding this?
I am also a little confused about carer’s leave. A previous Team Leader advised me that if flex leave was unavailable due to staffing levels (orange or red), I could apply for carer’s leave when I needed to care for my children, even if they were not sick. On several occasions, my carer’s leave was approved in those circumstances.
However, my current Team Leader has told me that carer’s leave is only available when a child is sick and requires care.
Could someone please clarify which advice is correct? I would appreciate understanding the correct policy regarding both carer’s leave and whether Team Leaders are required to ask for a reason when employees apply for flex leave.
TIA

Paid Parental leave(PPL)

I have a PPL scenario — if someone qualified for PPL for baby #1 and PPL payment ended 06/03/2026. They went straight onto unpaid maternity leave and remained employed. Baby #2 is due 14/10/2026. There’s a 31-week gap with no paid work. Would unpaid maternity leave be covered under the work test exception, or would they need paid leave like annual leave to bridge the gap? They are check with their employer if they can show annual leave paid earlier to reduce more than 12 week gap. TIA

Driving lesson Fine

I am a driving instructor in QLD since 4 yrs and bit confused as I received the fine infringement of $1200 as learner did put seat belt on during driving lesson but in camera it showing as belt on inappropriately but in the picture it’s not showing anything. Seat belt must be twisted and learner & I did not realise about that .
I am not sure how it’s possible coz my car notifies every time if seat belt is not on ..
I don’t know how can learner forgot the seat belt on as they are not new learner they are driving since 6-7 months. It’s never happened in my 4 yrs of driving instructor career.
Now I got fine on my name . Shouldn’t learner suppose to get fined for it as they were driving.
Can someone pls shed some light on this? 🙏🏻
TIA
Edit:- Infringement notice says “driver not wearing seatbelt properly adjusted “

TL do not responds on teams on timely manner

What should I do if my team leader isn't responding to my questions in a timely manner and it's blocking my work , not coding flex leave or medical cert on time pls ? Even for coaching sessions they never remember and have to send them lots of messages to join coaching session & they never inform me that they are running late for it & mostly I have to use my coaching time for L&D time. How to approach them without making them feel bad ? 😞
