I'm interested to hear what people prefer once they have both options. Would you rather trade a funded account with rules attached or a much smaller personal account with complete freedom? I can see good arguments for both. What would you choose and why?
Maybe this is a basic question but I'm trying to understand why prop firms have become so popular. From what I've read, you complete an evaluation and can eventually trade with the firm's capital instead of risking all your own money. Is that the main appeal or are there other advantages I'm missing?
When looking at few prop firms one thing that keeps changing is the profit split. some advertise 80% others 90% or even higher but I'm wondering how much that actually matters compared with things like drawdown rules and payout reliability.
For those who've traded with prop firms, what profit split do you think is fair and would you ever accept a lower split if the firm's rules and payouts were more reliable?
