High HDL?

So I just got my yearly physically and my HDL is surprisingly high. I know HDL is considered “good” cholesterol but I just don’t know why mine is so high and if I should be worried. I don’t drink alcohol so the number just isn’t making sense to me. Also my blood pressure is phenomenal and I don’t have any discernible symptoms.

Cholesterol: 231 mg/dL
Triglycerides: 56 mg/dL
HDL: 122 mg/dL
LDL: 98 mg/dL
VLDL: 11.2 mg/dL

Last extended fast

I’m planning on breaking my last extended fast (+30 day) later today. I’ve reached my goal weight and while I would like to lose a little more, these longer fasts would be too aggressive. I’ll be switching off to only eating during the weekend for slower but more sustainable weight loss. My extended fasts were hard at times but I’m proud that I was disciplined enough to do them.

I did several extended, month long fasts. I prefer longer fasts because they help stifle food noise the best, in my opinion. I’m thinking about switching over to only eating on the weekends now that I’m in a healthy BMI. I will admit it’s hard, mentally, to switch from fasting for so long to attempting to eat more frequently.

For my refeeds I allow myself to eat anything I want with no limitations 🤷🏾‍♀️ I don’t work out but I have a very active job that keeps me on my feet.

* I’m thinking about lowering my goal weight, maybe to 105LBS. I’m pretty short so I could technically weigh 94LBS and still be in a healthy BMI.

Reached goal weight, don’t know what to do

26F / 125LBS / 5’

So I’ve finally reached my goal weight! I’m happy and all but I’m not entirely sure which fasting pattern would work best for maintenance. I’ve been doing +30 day fasts and while I enjoy how they help curb food noise, I know I can’t keep doing them without becoming underweight. The lowest I’d be healthy at is 95LBS given my height.

I have a tendency to overeat so I would like to keep a extended fasting pattern, like maybe rolling 72s or only eating on the weekends. That way I can counterbalance my eating. Does anyone have any experience on maintaining their weight through fasting?

When I calculate my TDDEE it’s about 1,700kcal and my job is very active.

How to deal with pushy friend

For context I’m on day 20 of a 41 day fast, and I know the #1 of fasting is to not tell anyone you’re fasting so that’s off the table. Next weekend I have a hangout with a friend that tends to be very pushy with getting everyone to eat and will order food on behalf of others and insist that they try it. My normal trick is to tell people that my stomach is upset and they usually don’t ask further questions. However I’ve tried this with her in the past and she always insisted I eat something herbal to help with my (pretend) stomach issues. It’s a bit frustrating because she herself eats like a bird and will try to shove her food onto others, which I was a little worried about but I can’t be a hypocrite. I’m just struggling to find a solution that doesn’t end with me being an asshole to her.

TDLR; I’m seeking any tips and tricks people have developed on dealing with friends that can be pushy with food.

So last week I ended a 30ish day fast and wanted to share my experience since many people were concerned that I’d experience refeeding syndrome. I broke my fast on Thursday morning with some scrambled eggs, steamed broccoli, and sushi. I spent most of the day snacking on strawberries and had a chicken sandwich and milkshake for dinner. No refeeding syndrome 🤷🏾‍♀️ I did have one instance of diarrhea and minor cramping. I ate a normal diet from Thursday to Sunday, and now I’m back to fasting for hopefully another 30ish days.
