Has anyone participated in the MOVE! program in Pittsburgh. I heard that you have to attend to be able to get GLP1's, do you have to complete the program before they will approve it? I am already on GLP-1's, my private PCP provided the script, but I have been self financing and would like to see if I can get them covered through the VA. I did sign up for the program but 16 weeks seems like a long time to wait for something I'm already on.
I am still trying to wrap my head around how VA healthcare works so forgive me if this question has been asked and answered before. I received service connection beginning of the year, outside of establishing a PCP with the VA I have not really used them because I have private insurance through my employer. I recently reached out to see if I could get community care to continue with my current MD's, in response they set up consults with specialists at the VA. If I don't use these VA consults ( all of them tied to my SC conditions) and instead stay with my private doctors, will it have any impact on my current benefits?
