Top Skills to succeed in Procurement.

So I sort of stumbled into a procurement analyst role in a fortune 500 company, and turns out I really enjoy this career field. I love the idea of eventually being a category manager, but I worry about being mediocre. Obviously I want to move up but also I don't want to move too soon, so I'm really curious what people feel are the best skills to develop to be a top-shelf procurement specialist and eventually a category manager.

ADP Procurement Job Open

If anyone is planning to go into an ADP program and needs a referral, feel free to DM me.

A few facts for anyone who is planning to apply to the ADP procurement Role specifically:

  1. Procurement is a great career path. Category managers are sought after in virtually every industry.
  2. The Descriptions says to be prepared to move for training AND after you complete the program, but if you're in Procurement, you're going to stay at the MGTC building in Brecksville, which is one of the best offices you can work out of for Sherwin. Odds of moving anywhere else are negligible unless you switch departments.
  3. Expect about a 12% increase when you finish the program and some of the best retirement benefits you could hope for.

Hit me up if you have any other questions.
