should i report my friends family to social services (TW)
my friend (17) is in what i believe is a domestic situation. there is a pattern of violence starting with her dad who moved out when we were 12 like she was so terrified of him that if she heard cars outside her house she would immediately end the call. so there’s two specific situations but there is so many times this has happened i have mentioned police or social services involvement and she refuses. she has twin brothers (16) and they will together jump her like a couple months ago her mum was out the country and her dad lives about an hour away and they spit on her, punched her, kicked her, hit her with chairs and steel bars, broke her phone, called her all types of names, messed up her room to the point her arm was swollen but her mum will tell her she should’ve not provoked them. i don’t know if reporting it will make her life worse because after these episodes they get along so well and everyone treats her well but then when i think things are on the mend this happens. yesterday one of them beat her up for telling him to clean up his mess after she had to clean the house and he got so mad he pushed her against the wall, kicked a hole in the wall and her mum threatened to call the police on her because he had brain surgery a couple months ago. i genuinely do not know what to do anymore like i feel like
