How could I possibly have used that much cellular data in 15 minutes?
ATT service where I live is very poor. I can barely make a cellular phone call and I measure my cellular data rate at 1 mbps. I rely on wifi here for phone and data.
Recently I got an alert from ATT that I had used 75% of my 4 Gb monthly data and when I looked I found that all that data usage had occurred in a 15 minute time span when I was home and not using my phone other than to send one text.
By my calculations 3 GB in 15 minutes might be 26 mbps or 26 times what would even be possible if I were maxing out my data usage.
When I talk to ATT tech support they say that maybe the data rate temporarily went up and some app unbeknownst to me did a major update. So I could not get tech support to acknowledge the impossibility. They just want me to change my plan.
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how something like this can happen and how I might avoid it happening again.
