Need help repairing an old AT&T landline phone, urgent medical monitor for 94-year-old

My grandmother's (94) landline phone went out a few days ago. She has some medical monitoring equipment that uses the landline and it has not been able to function for several days now. She does not have internet installed at all. This is an old traditional landline (formerly BellSouth).

We have an open repair ticket with AT&T but they have no showed for 2 days in a row. After hours on hold each day, they keep telling us the work order has not been assigned yet. I have the work order number. We need to get her medical monitors back up asap.

Anyone have any information?

Can't activate Pixel 11 Pro on AT&T Network MVNO

I've been trying to get a P11Pro and a P11ProXL activated through an MVNO on the AT&T network. They state that they can't do anything about it because the AT&T IMEI checker (here) shows that the phone is not compatible. Since I'm not an AT&T customer, I can't do anything to get past the dumb AT&T AI chatbot to see if I can get someone to update their compatibility database. I'm escalating with the MVNO, but that's been a dead end so far today.

I contacted Google support to 1. Verify that the phone is, in fact, compatible, and 2. see if they could do anything to get AT&T to update their compatibility database; they did verify that the phone is compatible (Google Fi is an AT&T MVNO, and it would obviously work with that), but that the compatibility list is entirely on AT&T to update.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm sure that if I wait a week or two they'll get around to it, but I'm hoping someone, somewhere in the depths of the Reddit community has a line to the ear of the right people to get this fixed. It's a bad look for AT&T, particularly when early adopters want to use their shiny new toys.

Edit: Google Fi is T-Mobile (despite what Google support told me LOL); but as others have said below, other AT&T MVNOs are able to activate the Pixel 11 models.

Att 1000$ promotion doesnt work for iphone 15 plus (128gb) as trade in for ONLY flip 8

Been to two AT&T locations and have called. My iPhone 15 Plus (128GB) is in good condition and isn’t showing up for the $1,000 promo on their end for a Flip 8. It’s frustrating because everyone I’ve spoken to has just blamed it on the software, which it is.

My iPhone trade in gives me a $1K credit for the Fold 8, all other devices despite the Flip 8. Which I’ve already bought because I initially thought it would work. I upgraded my line as well, all for this, for me to potentially return my Flip 8 because I don’t want to stay on a plan that doesn’t give me the promo.
And on top of that, they want me to pay the fees for returning my phone ($55) and downgrading my line to what it was ($30).

I really hate my situation and don’t know what to do, other than the devs to lock in and pull that bug on their software. Any advice on this?

Firstnet billing question

Looking at our bill for my wife and I.

We only have 2 lines

On one phone line it says Premium 2.0 - 2 lines $90
On the other phone line it says Firstnet $47.99

Is this right? I thought Firstnet replaced a line.
If we took away the Firstnet would it just take away the $48 charge?

Has anyone found good enough use for the Firstnet? I’m military and we were told this was a better discount than military.

FirstNet continues to delete and deny Certification of being a first responder.

Hi folks, posting for an issue on my account but technically my partner is the first responder.

Without getting into too much detail my partner is by definition in her title a first responder she works for a city as a mental health crisis practitioner, and she literally is first on scene to most incidents in the city. About a year ago, AT&T sales reps came into her precinct and told everyone at the precinct that they all are eligible for AT&T FirstNet.

I personally worked in the cell phone business for a little while, and I know for a fact that usually FirstNet only sees EMS police and fire as first responders. Even after speaking with the sales representative over the phone about the situation (because it is my account and they needed authorization) they assured me that she is considered a first responder and is eligible for the program.

Fast forward several weeks after and we are in constant phone calls with the FirstNet line. We submitted all of the paperwork that states what she is in the agency that she works for and they continue to say that it was denied. Finally, after getting everything sorted and even getting a letter from the captain she works under stating that she is a first responder, the text and the random line shut off's stopped. That is, until today.

I contacted the first net people and they told me that there is no documentation for her yet again. It won't even allow an upload of new documentation either. The gentleman over the phone wasn't exactly the most helpful person I dealt with, he definitely tried his best but I could tell he was a little in over his head. He explained me that every 3 years is when they go and audit for firstnet eligiblity, but it's only been a year since we've been on the plan. Now I'm having to go through this run around all over again and I don't actually have a way of submitting this information to them.

My reason for posting this is to see if anybody else has had a similar situation and what they did to rectify it. I remembered the last time we did this I spoke to a girl through firstnet in North Carolina who is extremely helpful and she was the one who took care of mostly everything. I unfortunately don't have her information. But, if anybody has any similar stories or any issues please post here and I will update the story as I go along.

I apologize for the long-winded post, stay tuned for updates.

27 Year Old ATT Damage

We're selling a house and part of the due diligence included a sewer scope. Come to find out, 27 years ago (according to the records), ATT put in a line going across the property to the neighbors and went through our sewer line. It has to be dug up and repaired before we can close. Do I have any recourse?

No RCS. New F8U new number att

Yesterday dinner time my Fold 8 Ultra arrived. I set it up, transferring everything from my 17 Pro Max via USB. New number, so not an iMessage stick. All seemed to be smooth. Then I tried to pair my new Watch Ultra 2, and realized it wasn’t connecting to the eSIM. Called ATT and they fixed that. Then realized about 2/3 of my messages on RCS weren’t being delivered, telling me the person was offline. I called again, realized I also got an error when turning on WiFi calling. They “fixed that” telling me they did something wrong with the IMEI. After that, all messages were “Failed to Send” with a red ! Symbol. So, I called again them again. They either re paired or gave me a new eSIM, I deleted the original and they sent a new one. Restarted, and now all my messages send but only as SMS/MMS. Google Messages shows RCS as connected. I went to ATT this morning in person, and we did a factory reset again and set up as new with no data transfers. Still can only send as SMS even though RCS shows connected. I have tried clearing Messages data/cache, carrier services cache, turning RCS toggle off and on, multiple restarts, multiple factory resets, removed all devices and numbers from my Google and Samsung accounts before doing a factory reset… did the online remove your phone number from RCS Google link, you name it. Att store has basically said “at least you can sms/mms…this isn’t acceptable to me.. they suggested in store to call the 800 number and request a return if I wasn’t happy with only having sms, again ridiculous to even suggest in my opinion.

Someone on reddit has to have been through this? Help! I really wanted to love transitioning from iphone to a fold, but im ready to just send it back as a return.

Just changed landline service to AT&T Home Phone cellular based

Hey all,

I recently changed my copper based landline service to the new AT&T Home Phone cellular based service since they were going to be shutting down the old landline service next March. Anyway, I've had the new system up and running after self installing about two weeks ago. I got a bill for the new service for something like $75, and just mailed it today. When I got home, I found another bill from AT&T for $128, which is what I used to pay for the old landline service. Am I prepaying for the new service and still owe for the old?

Title: AT&T is asking me for a $103 bill as proof of the quote — but the $103 was given to me during the sales chat. How am I supposed to provide a bill that never existed?

I’m dealing with an issue with AT&T and wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar.

I switched four lines to AT&T after a sales representative quoted me a monthly price of approximately $103. I relied on that price when deciding to leave my previous carrier, and I also encouraged three other people to move their lines because I genuinely believed that was the offer being presented to me.

After switching, I was told that the approximately $103/month price was actually for an AT&T Business account. I was never told this before agreeing to switch, and I believed I was signing up for a personal account.

I have the chat transcript from the sales interaction as evidence. The chat also includes a conversation with the sales representative’s manager, who confirms that the ~$103 price was for a Business account.

Now AT&T is asking me to provide a bill showing the $103 price before they can consider honoring it.

This doesn't make sense to me because the $103 was a quote given to me before I became an AT&T customer. There was never an AT&T bill showing $103. The chat transcript is the documentation I have showing what I was quoted during the sales process.

I’ve explained this to AT&T and asked them to review the chat transcript as evidence of the quote.

I have made multiple attempts to resolve this directly with AT&T and have now filed an FCC complaint.

My question is: How am I supposed to provide a bill for a price that was quoted before I became a customer? Shouldn't the sales chat itself be considered evidence of what I was quoted?

Has anyone dealt with something similar with AT&T? If so, how did you get it resolved?

Can I Upgrade My Phone When on a Family Plan, but Pay for the Phone Myself?

My phone is paid off and currently on a family plan, with the monthly service being paid for by my brother.

Am I able to upgrade my phone, but pay for just the phone myself, so that my brother isn't paying for my new phone in his monthly payment? If so, can this be done online?

iPhone ultra

Assuming the worst case that iPhone ultra (rumored) to come out next month at $2k-$2500, how would I go about acquiring one through AT&T? I’ve never preordered a phone. I also have a paid off 512gb perfect condition iPhone 13 Pro Max. What would my trade in credit be? How would payments look like?

Fiber shows "not available" for my address on a split lot, but the front house of my split lot has active AT&T Fiber. How do I get serviceability fixed? Read details, I've already completed a few steps and validations.

Trying to order AT&T Fiber and stuck on what looks like an address/serviceability data problem. Hoping someone who knows the systems can point me to the right fix.

The situation:

  • My lot was split into two properties in 2016: a front house and a back house (mine).
  • About 2 years ago the front house signed up for AT&T Fiber, but it was set up under the original base address (no unit designation). That fiber is active and working today.
  • Recently I went through the process to get AT&T's system updated so the address carries a Unit A (front) and Unit B (mine). Both units now show in the address autocomplete.
  • The problem: online, neither Unit A nor Unit B offers fiber, only AT&T Internet 50 (copper). But Unit A has active, working AT&T Fiber right now. So the tool says "no fiber" at an address that already has fiber.

Supporting records, in case it matters:

  • USPS validates my address (the variant with the unit letter in it).
  • County assessor has the two properties correctly as A (front) and B (mine).
  • FCC National Broadband Map has my house under a completely wrong address. I filed a location challenge to fix it, plus one on the front house to add its unit.

My guess is the bad address data (especially the FCC map error) is why fiber won't associate with my address, but I don't actually know how AT&T's serviceability/facility mapping works.

Questions:

  1. Does this sound like a serviceability/facility-mapping issue that needs another engineering ticket? What's the actual internal fix, and who can trigger it?
  2. Best path for the next step: a corporate store, or an FCC informal complaint? Or something else?
  3. Should I hold off on the FCC informal complaint until the FCC broadband map is corrected, or does that not matter? (I don't love that idea since they only update the map twice a year)

Would love any advice from anyone knowledgeable.

Customer Service SUCKS!

Can someone please help me that has a connection to authority? I’ve tried for so long and just can’t get anyone to help me.

Long story short it’s been 11 months since we traded in our phones, 11 months and our trade in credits STILL are not correct. I’ve called numerous times, each call is a 2+ hour ordeal with them and they say they fixed the credits and give it a couple months to reflect, and EVERY TIME it hasn’t been fixed. I tried to call today, immediately asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she would she just needs a little info. 45 minutes later she’s trying to figure out the issue instead of transferring me, I finally ask again and she says ok she will once one is available, about 30 minutes of being on hold she says the supervisor is ready for me that she is transferring me. Sit on the transfer hold for 25 minutes and just give up. I’m so done with dealing with ATT customer service, I’ve never walked away happy.

What are my options? Android to iPhone?

After using a perfectly fine 15 pro max for several years, I decided to do a trade in and upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Stupid decision. I won't go into specifics, but I am not an android person.

Hence, what are my options? I'm thinking of waiting until the new iPhone comes out next month, pay off my Samsung to be eligible for upgrade, and then use Samsung as trade in for new iPhone. Will that work?

Any other options? Apple, I'm coming home!!
