AT&T snatched away my HBO access this week. Tech supervisor said it happened to everyone. I don't believe him.

I have a grandfathered unlimited plan and haven't changed it for years. This week, I lost HBO access, and the customer service line was that "everyone" has lost their HBO plan. No warning. Just yoinked away.

Has anyone else experienced this? Because I feel like I was being lied to. Certainly there would have been some sort of uproar online about that happening.

EDIT: So that was a fuckin lie.

EDIT 2: Very appreciative of all the responses. To add, I did not upgrade my phone or any other line on the wireless plan. My wireless plan is the part that retains HBO Max, as it is one of the features listed when you click to “view all” features in the account page. The only change made was terminating the home internet service after a move.

Re-watching Game of Thrones makes me suspect HBO throttles certain shows.

I generally watch two or three shows that air weekly, but have recently decided to re-watch Game of Thrones. There is a noticeable decrease in image quality compared to anything I’ve been watching weekly (HOTD, DTFSL, Lanterns). The compression and artifacting is kind of horrid.

When I began investigating, it is only then that I realized my subscription (via AT&T’s old unlimited plan) is “Standard,” which surprised me, as I just assumed I was getting a 4K stream because I’ve had no issues with quality before.

But this is just kind of nasty low bitrate video, and I have only noticed it with Game of Thrones. Am I tripping, or has anyone else experienced this as well?

Are the big scary panther things a deterrent from exploring too far too early?

Level 9-ish new player here.

I’m just trying to do a normal quest with someone at a camp, but they want me to go thru gossamer lake, where I get absolutely squashed by the big cats. Am I missing something about this quest or how to fight these animals, or am I focusing on the wrong stuff right now?

Home with no traditional doorbell/chime wiring; only POE. Planning to use Doorbell Lite. Considering different chime options.

This home came with no doorbell and no traditional wiring for it or a chime. Don’t ask me why.

I have a doorbell lite, and until reading the generally negative comments on this sub, I thought the UI WiFi chime would suffice.

Is there a better from-scratch solution for a home with no Alexa/HomePod/etc devices?
